Redecorating

I have been busy lately... chasing my 8 month old around the house! She is into everything now. In this case, one evening last week Erik yells up to me "Kristi! Come down stairs! You gotta see this!" Of course, I'm thinking something bad has happened like she finally found a way to eat the bird or something horrible but I come downstairs and find this. She looks up at me so innocent like. My alphabetized DVD collection just needed a little re-arranging in her eyes. Again, just a reminder of how much trouble she is going to get into!

Playing with her boyfriend, Conner

Here are a couple of cute photo's with her younger man Conner right before their swim date yesterday. They were holding hands and he was trying to tear her clothes off already. It was too cute!

Crib adjustment

We got home from our trip and realized that in just a week's time our baby girl had learned a lot and when we placed her in her crib to go to bed we were shocked to realize that she was going to easily stand up in her crib now. All week she had been practicing standing so once she saw the musical mobile she wanted to get a closer look. Erik decided to grab a camera to document it. Needless to say we decided to drop the mattress down as low as it could go after she did this. Now it digs into my stomach in order to pay her down. Oh well, better than being paranoid that she will crawl out! Here she is scoping out the arm while on her knees.
Now she is easily able to grab the butterflies.
Standing and able to reach for her favorite thing to play with that she is not allowed to, a diaper.

Road Trip to Montana to visit Great G'ma Part 1

We survived our road trip to Montana! Unfortunately, it entailed 4 days of traveling to get there and back but it was definitely well worth the trip. Sierra had a very exciting week! She got to see her Great Grandma Agnes again who she met when she was first born. She visited Glacier National Park twice. She got to watch her Daddy fly fish. She ate yummy Huckleberry Ice Cream from Daddy's cone twice. Lastly, she is moving around so fast these days and now she has learned to stand up by reaching for stationary objects to help her (tables, chairs, mantles, etc). We now realize we need to baby proof the apartment!

This is just one of our MANY stops along the way for diaper and feedings for the little princess!
Pick-nicking at Glacier National park with Great Grandma
Right after this photo was taken unfortunately she bumped her head on the mantle and got a scratch! We were so amazed at what she was doing that we weren't thinking about the danger of it. Oh, this is just the beginning!
This is her new favorite sleeping position with her butt in the air. Too funny! Here is her portable crib that she used all week.

Road Trip to Montana Part 2

She tried real hard to help me win at Pinochle but she wanted to eat the cards!
Sierra had a field day with these rocks. I just had to keep them out of her mouth. Other than that, she just picked one up, checked it out, then picked up a different one.
I love this picture. Erik went fly-fishing while Sierra and I hung out along the river bank. There were some Daisies that she ended up trying to eat of course!

Introductions to Beaker (the Cockatiel)

I video taped this small segment right before our trip that I thought I would share with all of you. Sierra has become OBSESSED with my bird! I have since had to move his cage to on top of the dining room table (basically out of Sierra's reach).
Enjoy!

Sleeping Angel and first french kiss

Look at those 2 Chompers!

Here are some more pictures from last week. The first one has her sleeping with toy in hand and foot all cramped up. Must have terribly comfy.
Last Sunday Sierra and I visited our friend Nina and her dog Libby. Sierra was hysterical! She was giggling the whole time and I realized after looking at the photo's that her tongue was sticking out the entire time. This, of course, made it an easy target for her first french kiss with Libby, the female I must add, Golden retriever.

Peekaboo in the crib

Last week, I noticed that in the morning when I woke up, Sierra was pulling down the crib border so that she could see me better as I was scurrying around before she was allowed out of her crib. I normally peek my head in and give her a smile and say Hi and then head downstairs to get her bottle started while she chills out. On this morning, I was videotaping her and saw her peeking through the slats and now I understand that it is the best view for her.
