2nd Christmas for Sierra

Sierra's Christmas was filled with presents and running laps around the tree and keeping her Mom on her toes for sure! She mastered the art of ripping the paper and digging into her presents. She even wanted to make sure that everyone else didn't need help opening their gifts. She would walk over to who ever else was opening and offer her "expert" assistance! Then she would catch sight of the tree and all the ornaments and run over there so she could touch and giggle at the cute wooden Scandinavian figures JoAnn has collected over the years. She received a bunch of cool wooden toys from Dad and Grandma that she got to play with and some really cool clothes from a bunch of family members to keep her stylish. Grandpa Gilbert gave her this mechanical farm that plays music and has all kinds of bells and whistles that she LOVES! She had a wonderful day! Here are some pix for you all to see!
Checking out the tree! "This is prickly"
Santa gave her this cute, cuddly Teddy
Showing off her "tearing through the paper" skills
Grandma JoAnn gave her this Sorting shape bus.
Sierra loves music and now she can bang away on the Xylophone!
Dad gave her this toy that she loves. We keep losing the balls however.

Cuddle time with Mommy.

We played a game where we buried Sierra with a bunch f wrapping paper like leaves. She was just giggling like crazy!

Birthday videos

I took a few videos during the day as well as a million photo's. Are you surprised at this???

1st B-day Celebration

Yes, it has been a long time since I have posted any pictures but I have a bunch from her birthday on Saturday. My apologies! Ever since I got on Facebook, I have been remiss with updating her blog.
Because our place is too small to have a party, I decided to take Sierra to the aquarium this year for the very first time. She likes our fish tanks at home and she LOVES animals on the TV so I had a feeling she would flip out at seeing them in person. Erik, Grandma JoAnn, and myself went into Seattle and had lunch first next door to the aquarium and they had a Carousel which we just had to try Sierra on. I was surprised at how fast it went. She was a bit scared but didn't cry. I was just holding on to her for dear life. Then we went to the Aquarium and saw all the wonderful fish, seals, sea otters, and jelly fish. Her favorite was the seal. We got to them right as they were feeding and afterwards one of the seals came up the window and sat there for a long time so she was nose to nose with him. She just stared and giggled at him.
After the Aquarium she passed out in the car and we went home for a couple hours and then headed over to Grandma's for dinner, presents, and the infamous 1st cake experience! The presents went great. It took her a little while and I would help rip the paper and she would finish ripping the paper off. She loved it! The cake however was a different story. She didn't know what to do with that. We tried to coax her to eat it, make a mess of it, something, but she was just not having it! Oh well, there is always next year!

Here she is opening up the present I got for her which was her Birthday outfit. The color was great with her eyes!

Lunch time for everyone!Yummy tea bag.
Erik tried to take pictures every time we came whirling around.
Easier to take a picture once the ride stopped!
The big wall of fish right when you walk into the Aquarium.
Grandma and Sierra checking out the seal.
Not the most flattering one of me but you can see how enamored she was with that seal!
Sierra and Daddy time

My Mom got her this cute Golden Retriever puppy and it always has a wet nose. Hmm, I wonder why?

Grandma JoAnn got her this snail that you drag behind you that she was fascinated with.
Her first baby doll!
By now, she was starting to get the hang of the opening of presents and fishing out the clothes. Cute vest!
By the end, she loved playing with all the paper. We kept putting it on top of her and playing peek-a-boo.
This is priceless because she HATES hats and hoods with a passion but we were able to put this on her for a split second. Kind of looks like a party hat!
Mommy, why is everyone looking at me??
The funny thing is how far away from Uncle Ryan Sierra tried to get. He was trying to get her to eat the cake but I think she was even more terrified now!

Cute photo session yesterday

Yesterday, she and I were battling it out with me trying to teach her the word "No" and that Mommy is not joking when she says this. She loves to smile at me and laugh when I tell her not to do something and then she re-does whatever it is I was frustrated at in the first place. Arggh!
Anyway, amongst this day I got some cute photos of her at lunch time.

Thanksgiving weekend updates

Here are a bunch of photo's from the holiday weekend. We celebrated Thanksgiving dinner over at Grandma Carlson's house. She tried turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, and even a cranberry. She liked the turkey the best! On Saturday night, Sierra got to meet Erik's Aunt, Uncle and cousin at JoAnn's for another yummy dinner. Sierra got to try scalloped potatoes which she also enjoyed.
It was a busy weekend but she strutted her stuff and showed how she is growing up and progressing her walking skills. She is getting better and better every day. Now if I could just teach her not to throw her toys every where, Mom would be a lot happier!

Trying a cranberry...
Not really liking that cranberry!

Sierra's Aunt Kerstin's Baby shower

Yesterday, at Nina's house we hosted a baby shower for Kerstin's future bundle of joy, baby "X". They will not share with us the name until he is born so that is what I am calling him. My job unfortunately was keeping Sierra from destroying Nina's nice carpet because she was all over the place walking, crawling going after plates, glasses, the dog, oh yes, the dog! Sierra became re-acquainted with Nina's Golden Retriever, Libby. Libby kept on licking her face and getting more excited as sierra squealed in delight. It was exhausting yet hilarious to watch her at the same time. I had her in her first pair of tights and boots which were darling. There were a lot of other younger babies there as well. Here are a couple of photos.

What's that on your tummy?
